WHAT IS IT?
- Construction mechanics weld, saw, turn, and mill metal structures such as chair frames, table legs, and other important parts. They use their own technical drawings and parts lists to do so.
- During their training, construction mechanics learn how to cut sections of steel and sheet metal to measure. They work with flame cutters, CNC machines, saws, welding robots, and resistance welding machines.
- Maintenance and servicing work on these machines also falls within the remit of construction mechanics, in the process of which they inspect the components and modules.
