AKABA | Kabi
Design: Jorge Pensi
The Kabi collection by Jorge Pensi is the result of an exercise in design with the concept of obtaining the maximum amount of configurations using the minimum number of components. The polypropylene shell is the key element of this collection with a timeless image. It provides great comfort thanks to the subtle flexibility of the material, this allows the user to find their most comfortable seating position naturally. The shell is available in a wide range of colors and can also be upholstered (seat only or fully) in fabric or soft leather. The four-legged frame consists of steel tube which can be powder-coated or chrome-plated. Additionally, the Kabi 4-legged chair can be equipped with open or closed arm rests made of steel tube (powder-coated or chrome-plated) as well as with a writing tablet.
After initiating his professional activity in his country of origin, Argentina, Jorge Pensi moves to Spain in 1975. Established in Barcelona since 1977, Jorge Pensi was part of the Grupo Berenguer, collaborating with Alberto Liévore until 1984. In 1985 he founds his own studio, specializing in furniture design, lighting, visual images of his products and assemblies for different types of events. Jorge Pensi’s Design Team is composed of Diego Slemenson, Constanze Schütz and Roman Proubasta. Toni Casares performs the management and administration of the Studio. Additionally, Pensi collaborates with his wife, Carme Casares, in graphic design projects, and from 1996 with Eduardo Campoamor in architecture projects and interior design.
